uh, what? The major theme was the struggle and acceptance of one's identity. Having a female go through a gender crisis and making the decision to be a woman is just as important to understand as a male or female deciding to be a woman or man respectively.

The revelation was a bit rushed, but it in no way devalues the themes of the overall work.

Mid-season rankings, but holding off on write-ups

I dropped Girls' Last Tour and Children of the Whales. Pretty all over the place as far as my rankings go. This will likely not remain set in stone beyond the bottom three. Top four are all super strong.

speaking of rankings I'm not going to put them together but I think UQ Holder is the weakest show I'm watching this season (Fate/Apo carryover aside), and it's pretty damn good. And I haven't dropped anything, on top of that.

I'm only watching like five shows, but I think that it's more than I just did a good job of avoiding the crap

Weakest show for me is likely also UQ Holders as well, maybe Zodiac War. Both still good, though.

I'm fishing a bit here admittedly, but she's sort of started reminding me of Estelle from Trails in the Sky. I wonder if I like this character archetype more than I thought I did.

I'm more than half way through Sunshine S1. Sunrise got the moe perfected at this point. It's like they know exactly how to appeal to you with a specific niche you're looking for.

Hanamaru is quickly rising as my favorite of Aqours. Her accent is irresistible.

I thought she got a lot better in S2 for whatever that's worth. I did like her in S1 personally anyways (she was on top of my initial character rankings after all), but even to me she was walking a fine line between great and terrible and could easily have jumped to the other side at any moment.

Love Live S2 beated. My overall opinion is more or less unchanged. Was a great comedy and an okay drama. One thing I noticed is that a lot of times the drama starts out good, but then they just keep hammering it in and take it one step too far. Like, for example, did I really need 3 full episodes of "THIS IS OUR LAST PERFORMANCE" to get the desired effect?

Oh well. Still a good show. Characters are great and Snow Halation is the actual best thing ever.

No, I have no plans to watch the movie as of right now. Though, if it ever becomes easily available in some official capacity then maybe I'll end up watching it then, but who knows. Sunshine I will watch eventually, though for various reasons it will be better if I take a break and watch other stuff in the meantime.

Hanayo was pretty terrible initially and didn't get good until later on in the series.

Also it's more the fact that everyone else is just better. Even Rin is still pretty good, all things considered.

Rin's probably my favorite just from the game dialogue. Maki is practically tied though. I think I somehow goofed and got S2 episodes instead of season 1 so I'll probably have to go back and find those lol
