Trails of Cold Steel was translated 2 years after it came out in Japan. Trails of Cold Steel 2 was translated 2 years after it came out in Japan. So... we're probably getting it sometime in the next two years.

It was most likely already mostly done in the first place. It seems like what happened is they cut 3 in half to make 3 and 4 because it was getting too long.

I highly recommend starting with Trails in the Sky because it comes first and is way better. If you really want to however, then you don't need stuff from prior games to play Cold Steel 1 and 2 (though there are minor references made and such). I am told this changes in Cold Steel 3 though and that that one kind of relies on stuff from previous games. (TitS and the unlocalized Crossbell games)

All three Trails in the Sky games are on PC and can run on a toaster. The Trails of Cold Steel PC port is very good, too, with the 2nd game on the way.

I can theoretically run them, I just don't use my PC anymore. Been dead for months now I think.

To be fair, after thinking about it you might actually like Cold Steel more anyways.

Stylistically, Cold Steel takes after modern JRPG'S (Think Tales maybe?), but TitS is closer to a classic FF or something.

I got both Cold Steel on PS3 thinking they probably wouldn't be ported...I should just quit buying new games and wait until they're out for a year or two I guess

Gonna be weird if the PC ports still turn out better because Falcom doesn't backport in the PC improvements XSEED made.

Though I do wonder what audience there is here for this. It's already out on PS3, Vita, and PC here.

PC Ports having Turbo Mode will still make them better than a PS4 version if Falcom doesn't implement them. XSEED might still bring them over just to have the entire Cold Steel series on PS4
