Here's that "across the aisle" issue that he seriously needs right now. Most people can probably agree with this.

Agreed, but I mean even though I believe Scientology is a scam and fake. People think of the same thing of my religion. So when you get rid of one, your opening the door for others. I feel real spiritual places, including Hindu, Muslim, Christianity, etc. Should be tax exempt but obvious shit like Scientology shouldn't be exempt.

I agree.
I also think all religions should lose their tax exempt status, or at a minimum, any that get politically involved such as hosting politicians' campaign events or directing the congregation to vote for someone.

But making the most ridiculous cult of them all pay up is a start.

All so called religions should.

Why should Christianity or Judaism get special status for taxes on activities that solely benefit them.

They have the constitutional right to their beliefs but that doesn't include special tax standing.

Give them tax breaks for those aspects of their churches that are specifically charitable.

Agreed. But even then, I suspect the legal definition of "charity" could probably use some evaluation and refinement to curtail tax break abuse.

This. The money that they can prove is being used for charitable works can be exempt from taxes. Not everything they bring in.

Came in to say this.

Usually there's a cap on tax deductions, but I don't see why we can't just remove the cap for religious or charitable institutions and tax them like we would any other business.

Itd be funny to see him on the other side of this equation. The problem is that citizen Trump is much easier to screw with than President Trump. Past a certain point, theres probably some way they could charge the church.
