I had trouble getting into the first Deadspace on PC either due to the controls or the visual were somehow nauseous for me which is odd since the third-person view of Mass Effect never bothered me.
Still, from what I briefly recalled there are limited resources in the game, I need to conserve ammo, and upgrade my character appropriately. For most of System Shock 2 I think I horded ammo and used the wrench for maybe 80%+ of the game. Will Deadspace be of a similar approach to System Shock 2? The scarcity of ammo made the laser pistol a great weapon in SS2, perfect for when you wanted to deal with annoying shotgun hybrids or other such enemies not worth wasting ammo on.

Wonder why I never bothered to put one point into Energy Weapons to use the laser pistol on stuff I want to kill from range. I musta been hording Cyber Modules as much as possible if I relied on the wrench for 80%+ of the game.

I never played System Shock 2 but having played Dead Space, nah, you don't have to horde ammo, enemies drop stuff when killed so ammo is plentiful. In fact I usually end up selling excess ammo for like an upgrade point.
