How does it work?

All matches will be best-of-5. The first player to win 3 games within the match is considered the winner of the match and advances.
Each player must submit decklists from three unique classes prior to each stage of the event. Players may submit new decks prior to each stage of the event.
A player must win one game with each of his three decks to win the match.
When a player wins a game, the deck used by the winning player cannot be used for the remainder of the match.
The losing player can keep the same deck used or switch to a different one of their choice.
Players will be told what classes their opponent has available, but they wont know which class is picked until both players have picked


The only exception is if you both agree to a ban rule, then it's 4 unique classes.

I feel like the idea of disclosing everything wasn't really brought up in the topic or talked about, I guess we can have finalized decklists so that we can have the ability to prepare (and so people can't just tech in advance if there's any knowledge) but if you want a surprise/fun factor then we can just make it class! Up to you guys.

Like miracle rogue or yogg mage back in the day.

You can be born from memes and still end up stale.

But really I was talking about off-meta decks, which I guess was my fault for not being clearer.

Based on high rank and legend from what Ive seen

Tempo rogue
-there are sets with and without prince 2. Prince sets snowball more but lose a lot of strong tech options in the two slot for it. Although I tend not to play this now because everyone has crawler teched into their decks.

Big Druid
-big Druid works because of a couple of factors one is the massive amount of ramp (a Druid can ramp like 4 times in 3 turns and there not uncommon). And spreading plague which ruins the swarm plans. Basically big Druid and to a lesser extent jade Druid (where jade idol is the problematic card) is a deck that shows the issues with the power level of Druid cards this rotation. It just does what it wants to to well and has too many good tech picks versus counter strategies. Id go as far to say this is potentially the best deck right now.

Highlander priest
-despite what vicious syndicate says I still think this is a tier one deck. I sport close to a 60% win rate with it at high ranks and what drags it done I think is that its a difficult deck to play properly and to properly fill in your slots to fit what youre facing in your meta for your rank. As a very reactive deck you need to know you opponent deck types and lists even more than usual. What hurts it though is that the deck has very poor matchups versus jade and big Druid and to big priest (which is a deck I think should be killed the same way quest rogue was for similar reasons ). Decks that are popular. Id say its even versus rogue and token decks maybe even favored with correct teching. The deck though Id say is favored versus almost all other classes main deck types outside of like quest mage (which is the decks hardest matchup something like a 20 %er) and double deadmans nozoth warrior. Although smart use of your cards will allow you to burst them from even like over 40 hp.

Id say if you want to climb and have confidence in your skill (I do think decks like jade Druid, big Druid, and jade Druid, dont have a lot of real decision making trees though meaning a complete idiot can Highroll them and win) use one of those if you can. Zoo lock is also a strong deck atm.

Btw crawler is so common that Ive taken the pirate package out of all my decks besides rogue (where its just too good in).

I really don't want to disclose full deck lists. If we're going the meme route (which I 100% support btw), there needs to be some amount of surprise involved. I was just looking through my decks, trying to fine-tune some so I could at least field 2 competitive decks (I refuse to run Jades), but if full deck disclosure isn't required, I am fully willing and able to run 3 full meme decks.

I only say this because even if we go full tryhard, I think we all realize this is far from the optimal way to determine who the best player is on this board, nor do I believe anyone really cares.

This is tricky since I'm a participant and organizer

also most of the decklists are posted on the sites days beforehand upon reveal, fwiw (It always becomes a topic of discussion among the playerbase as to who is bringing what and how they're teching against the others)

I wouldn't use a deck tracker but I can't really enforce it (I can't even really show proof as to who won unless someone spectates/records it)

I can field 4 if you want, but I feel like setting up a ban in this kind of format is pretty pointless and silly. Good luck trying to figure out what deck exactly you're banning.

FYI, I have 2 decks ready so far. One is pretty meme-y, and the other one probably just shouldn't even exist. I'd like to go on an honor system as to what to make my final deck so as to at least not get 0-3'd. I don't want to run Tempo Rogue or Jade Druid or something. I've played enough of those games on ladder to know how they go.
