It's different than I expected. I've seen all but two of the episodes, I liked all of them though some of them kind of just touch on details instead of exploring those details more.

Basically, they take one historic event and do a re-enactment of it, and then there are other mythological lessons and details about the event that are added as sort of intermediary scenes as the story's being told.

So like, if it was about an alien abduction, they'd start out with like a few minute explanation of the origins of the alien abduction phenomenon, the re-enactment might tell the story of Travis Walton, and then throughout the episode they'd break it up with other general UFO and alien abduction story themes.
