Up? It was about 3k most of this year.

Meanwhile r/gaming is 45k right now.

GameFAQs has a smaller community than most niche subreddits.

That isn't really a lot compared to reddit. Some individual subs have like 40,000 active.

I mean to be fair reddit is entirely about communities.

GameFAQS is about the FAQS. The boards are just a bonus.

Also is that active users or just subscribed users?

Active users. They have like 17 million subscribed users.

even at its peak I doubt gamefaqs ever had anywhere near 45,000 users on at once, the boards have always been pretty niche

What do people even like about the shitty vote-based posting style anyway? Chronological forever.

There's probably a decent number of people who have today off (like me, although admittedly I booked it off because my work gave us a "floater" day to use because Remembrance Day was on a Saturday).

Check the numbers tomorrow or Wednesday for more accuracy.

This. Reddit is great for seeing a funny response at the top of the page, but is horrible for any actual discussion.

Yeah.

Really dislike Reddit. The up voting system makes getting noticed in a big conversatiom very difficult especially if your option isn't the majority opinion...easily can get downvoted into oblivion.

Also a lot of the subs have crazy ass mods who are very ban eager and each sub having its little set of rules makes things less intuitive and consistent.

The boards used to be huge. Almost every board, even obscure games and social boards had consistent activity hourly. I think I remember seeing at least 20k user just a few years back and that was already on the way down and not counting the GameSpot years.

98% of those boards are effectively dead now. That's pretty apparent.

IGN, GameSpot and GameFAQs were the main gaming sites for all things gaming including the communities.

The point here was more that GameFAQs is pretty much dead and not going up as OP implied. 2400 is absolutely pitiful.

It's super early in the morning. The majority of users wouldn't be active at this time.
