99% conviction rate for criminals that go to trial (In America, average conviction rate by charges pressed by detectives is only over 80% even if you count confessions). And police brutality is legal.

Plus, the idea of conformity, where individuality is shunned.

Besides the faxing, the censorship (though private censorship has been becoming quite popular in the US), and the conviction rates (and that's because they have exponentially less crime and rarely arrest people unless they have the evidence), the US generally has every one of those on an even bigger scale.

Not to the extreme in Japan. Then again most of those negatives are usually from cities, not rural areas.

Sure, all of the above happen in other countries too, but at least the culture condemns that behaviour rather than encouraging it.

Up until about the 2000s America was pretty much the same way. Later than that tbqh. Why do you think there's such a surge in people speaking out on these social justices at the moment? You make Japan seem like it's centuries behind in social issues when it's more like only a few years.

If you want to find the 'positives' in Japanese culture as compared to America's, then you can definitely find them. I would argue that a lot of these positives are superficial and fairly subjective. Also somewhat pointless - just look at the size of America and compare it to Japan. (And, of course, Japan is famous for only having a few areas that are actually populated). America has a number of regional cultures that you could use as your basis tbh. But the cultures have a pretty crucial difference in that America really celebrates individuality (to the point of idolizing characters like John Dillinger) while in Japan you're expected to fit into the fabric of society...the nail that sticks out should get hammered in type of thinking.

But yeah, if you like Japanese culture so much - move there!
