So i just started working at this company that was recently bought by Panera Bread (Funny part is they bought them the day before I started)

I learned that most people who work in my area (accounting) now were here for short time frames (one girl was 5 days, another was 3, etc)

I also didnt get a name tag lol so Im pretty sure they plan on laying a bunch of people off just based on the obvious signs. People are also waiting on their paychecks from weeks before lol

Anyway unsure on what to do. Continue my job search? Go back to old job or wait it out?!

Seriously considering just going back to my old job, at least there was stability lol...

The safe, smart thing would be to look for another job.

Yeah if my job didn't give me a paycheck I'd be suing them for it not waiting for it.

My company has been doing random layoffs of some departments, and other ones they have pretty much flat out said if someone does leave they aren't being replaced. My department seems to be fine simply because we work on the project that makes the company a ton of money, but I am not ruling anything out.

However, I have worked at this company for 10 years, so no way in hell am I going to look for another job now. If they do lay me off, I get 20 weeks of severance, I am milking that for all it is worth, lol!. Still, I am beefing up my resume just in case.

In any case, the second the paycheck bounced, so would I. Homie dont work for free.

i mean in either case i wouldn't be working for them without pay. i'd be looking for a different job and just staying at home. if i'm not getting paid i'm not going to work.

Sometimes I get really incompetent service from Panera and I guess this explains why

I wouldn't do a good job either if I was working for free
