Just got back from seeing it. There were a couple of cool scenes here and there, but it still suffers from Snyder's trademarked horrible pacing and boring exposition. Also the villain was really fucking lame

I was really pessimistic after batman vs superman to be honest but it was a decent movie. Not a 9/10 like you wish for but a solid 7 maybe a low 8 if I'm generous. Both post credit scenes were nice.

I actually liked him as a villain. The CGI was good. His dialogue and voice acting was good, he was pretty imposing physically.

What I didnt like (and what I am so sick of) is the faceless CGI alien army. I've had enough of those.

I saw articles making fun of Superman's facial expressions in it. Were they really that bad

Also the opening box office was not even close to what they predicted which made me lol. Did they really think it would do as well as BvS did after people watched it and realized the quality of their movies

Totally agree bvs was so depressing it turned me off superheros for a while. One of few movies I genuinely regret seeing. Lex was even worse than the tone though.

Totally agree bvs was so depressing it turned me off superheros for a while. One of few movies I genuinely regret seeing. Lex was even worse than the tone though.

DC has done an excellent job turning their most iconic villains (Luthor and The Joker) into two of the most unintentionally funny characters in film... couldnt have done worse with those two if they actively tried.

The logic behind Steppenwolf is that he was supposed to be Darkseid's lackey and be paving the way for Darkseid to appear. Ending on a cliffhanger

But Whedon hated this as he thought it was

1. Too similar to the MCU with Thanos and his build up

And

2. Just made this movie look like "Just another one before the next"

So he took out a lot of the references to Darkseid and ended the movie with a finale, meaning Steppenwolf now has no clear motivation or character.

I see Whedon's point but boy did it leave a lousy villain

lmao yes. The opening scene is cellphone footage (filmed in portrait ffs) of a kid asking him questions and he looks like he's constipated through the whole thing

Yeah! I thought there would be more about a certain someone in that scene in end credits, but oh well.

Honeslty, I thought the movie was shaping up to be terrible until Steppinwolf went to get the first box against the Amazonian women. That was a cool big battle as well.

It was alright, but I feel like the mfking Justice League deserves better than alright.

I laughed at how easily Superman shit on Steppinwolf when the rest of league struggled the whole movie.
It was nice seeing A Green Lantern I guess
