Nah, but it had a bit of that classic AVGN feel to it. It kinda reminds me of something like Batman games or Rambo games. I didn't expect him to do another episode which crammed in multiple games featuring the same character, so this was a nice surprise for me.

I'm liking 2017 AVGN.

People are whining that it's not as good as it used to be but I disagree, the standard is super high

^ Hey now that's completely unfair.

You know, I kinda about the Power Rangers episode when I made that last post. He already had done an episode recently focusing on different games involving the same characters. Him singing the Japanese theme song was hilarious.

I had no idea that all three films had NES games. I only knew about Robocop and Robocop 3. Does that make it the only film series in which every movie has an NES adaptation? Even the Star Wars trilogy was missing Return of the Jedi.

All of the BttF movies are on the NES. Though II and III are on one cartridge.

Does Terminator count?
They only made two movies while the Nes was still alive, and both got games.
And we got Ghostbusters. The second movie even got two games.

I guess that one could be argued either way. I mean, it is a bit cheap that two movies are on one cartridge, but it does still have all three movies stretched across multiple cartridges.

Heh. You're right. Ghostbusters technically has more games than movies. It's a shame the US never got the good version of Ghostbusters II except on Game Boy. Stupid licensing issues.

Robocop
Ghostbusters
Back to the Future (sorta)
Terminator

Pleasantly surprised he's putting these out once a month or so. Did he recently end a project or something? Because he was definitely going slow with avgn until recently.

agreed. The best videos are those where he just sits on the couch and discusses gameplay and history.

Was hoping he'd cover one of the Robocop vs. Terminator games. Decent episode.

Same. He did feature the Super Nintendo version on an episode of James & Mike Mondays though.

He was getting burned out, largely because of Monster Madness every October. This was the first year he didn't do it.

When he does "(intellectual property) games" episodes, he doesn't always focus exclusively on the shitty ones. Batman (NES), Batman Returns (SNES), and Terminator (Sega CD) all received recommendations.

Yeah but it was kind of the whole point in this episode

True. It was one of his prime directives.

It might have been funny if he started playing, then malfunctioned because it wasn't shitty.

Obviously not his strongest recent episodes, but his recent episodes have almost entirely been very good, so I don't mind a lukewarm one every now and then.

It's not a bad episode by any means either. I think the games were also pretty dull and already done worse by other games
