The trick is to say no to everything the first few months and ignore her when she cries about it. Soon she'll get over it and reduce her expectations. Dont give her an inch until then.

Will this argument impact me enough that winning the argument is actually important or is it easier to just say yes dear and not bother with said argument.

If the argument has minimal impact on me and I can end it quickly, then I will say yes dear and cave.
