"Happy Holidays" when it's within the timeframe of Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years

"Merry Christmas" when it's actually Christmas

I hate how redcaps and their messiah are turning Xmas into a political issue.

One can be Christian, enjoy Christmas, want to tell 'Merry Christmas' to people and still not be a raging racist who goes like MAGA MAGA IF IT AINT WHITE IT AIN'T RIGHT.

I don't really care what others say, but I use Happy Holidays because I live in a multi-cultural country and I don't feel the need to be an asshole. I'm not insecure about my traditions, and don't feel I need to yell about them to everyone within earshot.

You don't lose anything by including others.

As for why businesses do it? I don't get what the problem is. The critics act like SJW Bogeyman rushed into the executives offices and held guns to their heads. Fact is, the businesses want to do it because they don't give a shit about your personal beliefs, they want money. Your money, Muslim's money, Buddhist's money, etc. They want to include everyone because they don't give a shit about your personal convictions or your traditions. Any belief that some faceless corporation is interested in promoting wholesome Christian values is 100x willful ignorance.

This is a false point.

Will I get offended by hearing somebody say 'happy hannukah'? LOL NO
Will I get offended by people going like 'happy diwali'? LOL NO.
Will I get offended by people going like happy Kwanzaa/Festivus/Chinese new year'? LOL NO.

So I don't understand why people act like they're getting sprinkled with holy water and are made to pray just because somebody said 'Merry Christimas'

I don't get what you are saying.

No, that wouldn't offend me. I say 'Happy Holidays' because I have no idea what anyone else is celebrating and don't really have strong convictions about promoting any one particular idea. Happy Holidays also includes all of them, so no matter what, I cover my bases.

What you don't seem to get is that 'Happy Holidays' includes Christmas and every other holiday, it doesn't replace them.

There is also the problem that you assume that people of all religious backgrounds are treated equally and come from the same starting point, which simply isn't true.

I also never said I got offended by anyone else saying it.

Depends on your faith. Depends on if there is a state religion as well.

I wouldn't expect a muslim in Iran to be saying Happy Christmas just as I'd not expect a christian in Italy to be saying Happy Hanukkah.

If it's a secular state then it would come down more to what religious festival takes place and when. If it's Christmas Day then it's Happy Christmas, if it's a Sikh festival or a Hindu festival then the relevant names, if you're not interested in the festival then it's _______day. The whole "Happy Holidays" shit can fuck off.

I say Christmas because the average person should realize that it's the biggest holiday of the season and therefore probably the one celebrated the most

I just don't like "Happy Holiday". The singular one. Obviously you're referring to Christmas so chances are you're gonna offend anyway, so just say that.

But people only go HURR DURR SAY HAPPY HOLIDAYS SO YOU DON'T OFFEND OTHERS when it's about Christmas. I've never heard that debate being used for any other festivity.

I don't say "Happy Holidays" for Thanksgiving or other national holidays.

If someone feels like this national holiday is against their beliefs, then I'll ask what they celebrate and wish that their holiday is a happy one.

I don't even get why people just now care about the war on Christmas. The holiday has been getting secularized for a century. Millions of people all faiths give each other expensive gifts and don't even think about Jesus on that day. But saying Happy Holidays on December 3rd when there are a fuckton of holidays between November and January? That is what is apparently destroying their religion and demonizing them as a people.
