Abby has been pretty great in everything besides these GOTY podcats, and even then really only in the last one.

I think she had some missteps in a couple of them, but I agree that this is the first time I've ever had an issue with her.

Same. Abby has been great otherwise and a breath of fresh air. It just seems that she's not on the level of "game critic" as some of the others are just yet, but that's something that'll come with experience.

I think she might've heard about how crazy these deliberations can be, and went in swinging despite not knowing a whole lot about a bunch of games, which resulted in her voice being one of the most consistently present. The downside there ended up being the "this thing is good because I like it" and "this is very good" that we got 100 times.

Combine that with her, self admittedly, having played the least games of the group and bemoaning the idea of catching up on the year's big games, and you have a bad recipe. If she had been an earlier higher this may have ended differently. Ben is a whole weird situation, since he's been in the GB ecosystem for years.

She mentioned that there was some controversy with A Hat in Time, but I have no idea what she was talking about. Wouldn't want to be the one to drop the bomb on her that Dream Daddy is a Game Grumps game.

I looked it up when she mentioned it. Jontron did voice work for it apparently. He did it for Yooka Laylee too, but Playtonic removed it before release. Hat in Time people left him in.

Also really hate how Abby propped up Dream Daddy to shit on a whole genre she had never played and knew nothing about, just as an excuse to fight for it.

They bleep and edit a lot of stuff out now, but they still do actually go on a bunch of awful rabbit holes. It's just now that stuff gets cut most of the time.

Also Abby seemed to invent reasons for why she was gonna argue for DD, nobody made those claims, but she still stuck with them anyways.

Literally nobody said they should take DD off for being a dating sim, but she argued that they said that like...6 times.

I jumped into the middle of the goty talk to see where the pic of them all being upset came from and right before it Jeff suggests PUBG as number 1 and literally everyone else groans at him about it

I'm curious how they get from that to putting PUBG at 1, but not curious enough to deal with two and a half more hours of this conversation.

Abby played almost everything they discussed, I don't think it's fair to say she doesn't or hasn't played other games.

Regarding A Hat in Time, it's not just the JonTron stuff. One of the lead devs doxxed someone, and that sounds more like what the issue is.

Straight up, the half an hour plus spent on Dream Daddy around the 3 hour mark is the worst part of any GB podcast ever. I think it would be very difficult to claim otherwise.

You compare this to how Austin went for Invisible Inc and it's just sad.it's straight yo whining about the same BS arguments over and over again to get her way, there's zero actual justification here, and I am stunned how she can keep pulling the "stop hating on dating sims" card when the only one actual doing that is her.

As someone who interacts almost daily with Rorie, dude works his ass off to keep the site running with all the support emails, bug reports, and other shit. Even when he is on UPF, he is helping moderate the chat and working on that shit. So give him a little break.

I'm fine with all that, just stay off the podcasts if you have serious problems speaking in groups. He might be a perfectly fine person, but he tanks all the ones he's on.
