Second time this has happened. My ps4 is not activated as my primary. I go online an d i can't deactivate the one that is and have to wait 6 months. No one has access to my ps4 and i know this for a fact so someone is hacking accounts through the web portal, which seems unlikely or some idiot who works for sony is stealing accounts(more likely).

I spoke tot hem and they gave me some link to deactivate my console with the serial number etc but i dont want to deactivate mine. I need to deactivate the other console i don't have access to that stole my account. They also said nothing they can do and i have to wait 6 months. So im sol because their security sucks.

They also blamed me saying i need to protect my account information. The only place it is is in my head and i have never shared it.

This is a pretty scary response from a company that most likely has your card information lol I mean no shit, protect your info as best as you can. But maybe they should restructure their online service to be not only more consumer friendly, but more protective of their customers info.

Call again and tell them you want to deactivate everything. If they prod say you sold a PS4 and forgot to deactivate your account when you did.

yeah its impossible that someone could have stolen it from me. I live alone and only person who uses the ps4 so no way someone could have stolen it from me.

I had my account hacked a while back and I'm guessing some punk kid who works for sony was stealing accounts. Or there was a massive data breach where my account info got exposed.

Both completely their fault.

I'm like there is no reason why i should have to wait 6 months to activate this as my primary ps4. Its the only ps4 i own so some guy who stole my account can have it for 6 months??? THat makes no sense.

I changed my login information regardless but this still should be my primary ps4. Sony blows.

Yeah no they should deactivate the primary if you supply them with a scan of your drivers license

i dont even know what the difference is but only reason i noticed was some of my downloadable content wasn't working. All my games are working but the bonus content i got in gta like stock car races and all of that wasn't. I think its because of that.. considering gta is all im playing right now annoying though.

i strongly recommend you implement their two-factor authentication if you haven't already.

Just spoke to them on the phone they were very responsive this time. I had to submit a request and its going to take 24 hours. I was ready to rip some heads.

Well i should say it should be fixed. Still have to wait 24 hours. Still annoying never would have even noticed if it wasn't for the add ons not working. Also unlinked and relinked my social club account with rockstar thinking it was that before i even went here. I hope that didnt screw up the bonus content i had.
