I know he was stressed out, but I just feel like he didn't try hard enough. They way he left our family seemed like he was just running away. Like literally left me with taking care of the family.

And then after he left, my parents were pulling me in different directions. He's saying to do one thing and my mother is saying to do another. Well, I try to stay neutral, but my mother is actually here in person, so she has more pull. Father took that as me taking sides and told me to "have a good life". Never gonna forget that. And it's even worse because my paternal uncle has turned against me as well.

So yeah, I'm mad at my dad for doing this. I will always take care of my family, but I believe he should do the same.

Yea, alcohol can change people's thinking, we went from living in a brand new big house to living in a box house where 5 people had to share 2 beds, all because of my father dumping us. He even chopped all the furniture in the house with an ax and piled it in the living room.

No, I'm glad he left. Death by cancer that forms inside plasma cells, thus working against your immune system was a shitty way to live. Happy he was finally released from this cruelty and possibly in a better place.

My mom is the one who left, but it's my dad's fault. He was a really bad alcoholic/drug user. He ended up cutting my mom on her forehead with a knife. I'm so glad my mom left. Also glad my mom got custody of me.

Double edged sword and hindsight, at the end of the day, through tough times and hard days, our life has finally reached a stable, peaceful middle class life without much financial woes.

I don't care to imagine how things would be different with him.

I think my dad just wasnt ready to settle down tbqh. He and my mom got divorced when i was a baby and my sister was a toddler. We found out 17 years later that he had fathered a child with a woman at his workplace. That wasn't even the reason for the divorce.

He had also married once before my mom. It was some spur of the moment thing in college and they weren't even married a year.

So I've come to the conclusion that he probably shouldn't have married my mom in the first place, but then I guess I wouldn't be here so I guess it's all for the best.

So my parents were struggling. I stepped up to pay the bills. Did this for years. At the end, it wasn't enough. House was lost. Had to find move in with maternal grandparents for a little bit.

A little over a month later, I come home from class and catch my father sneaking out. Says he just has to get away for a bit. Well, he never came back. And that's when I got stuck between two fighting parents.

I'm just like wow okay so I'm still here fighting to keep you guys afloat, but you're just gonna leave us. And a hidden problem is, just what the heck am I supposed to do with my mother? Leave her by herself? Too much unnecessary stress. You don't leave family like that.

The worst part is when they come back years later and you don't even want to look at them.

I don't think he's gonna come back. TBQH, he won't bare the shame. Besides, I hear he has a new woman. My age lmao just like all those fictional situations.

Oh, another fucked up thing. My half bro (dad's son, mom's step son) told me our father reached out to him to serve mom the divorce papers. Dad said he'll pay him and everything. My brother wisely declined with hopes that they can settle this nicely without dragging anyone else into it.

I just have a problem with dad paying his own son to serve his mom. Like what kind of cowardly shit is that.
