Crafting in New Vegas.

Truth.

Ammo crafting was almost pointless because you only made a couple bullets at a time, and it used A LOT of resources. It was far more time efficient to just wait at Vendortron and buy ammo as it comes up for sale.

Food crafting was garbage as well.

Literally the only decent item you can craft is the Bottlecap mine.

Imagine buying from vendortron and not the Khans.

Just why? I would buy in bulk and for cheap at Khans amd refit it to better ammo in the work bench in the shop

Assassin's Creed Origins: the tools, don't ever feel a need to use them and they're a little bit of a pain in the ass to use, imo.

I used bezerk a few times and poisoned a few corpses, and firing sleep darts into a fire was really useful if the opportunity arose. But yeah, overall they were pretty pointless.

I find the tools are actually pretty powerful but they're just so cumbersome to use. Constantly crafting/looting more, having to manually switch to them each time etc... I don't have a better solution but they're not particularly fun.

Any and all blatantly Japanese games, tbh. They always have shitty small text and way too many minor bells and whistles that the game wouldve done infinitely better without.

I played through almost all of the Witcher 3 without touching alchemy, just because the tv I had at the time sucked and I couldn't read the text

You did not just imply the Shishkebab is useless!!

In Persona Q I completely forgot skill cards existed.

Those are actually super useful tho, and easy to work with if you've got a decent way to make cash (a nav persona to farm power spots for example)

Everything in Saga Frontier.

Also there are systems in Legend of Mana that no one fully understands to this day.

Yeah I managed to work out the mess of depth that game was due to having a ton of free time for a bit. Love the game but not easy to figure out at all and if I want to beat anyone's story in under 5 hours (excluding Lute and his 5 minute long chapter) I have to rely on the junk shop glitch.

Pretty much everything in Star Ocean 2.

It really is pretty dense unless you consult a guide.

If it weren't for the Prima strategy guide, I wouldn't have enjoyed it nearly as much as a kid. It had all the skill info in there.

If you had a bunch of ammo, it wasn't hard to break a bunch down and remake it into something better. Sure, you didn't get as many rounds out of it, but .308 JSPs alone made it worthwhile. I would load up Paciencia with them on my crit build and one-shot Deathclaws with sneak headshots.

Also, alchemy is really easy in Elder scrolls games, if you can match effects between ingredients you can do it and it's strong enough to make it worthwhile. At the very least, you'll always have healing and magicka potions, and poisoning your weapon for extra damage is nice. It's not like you need to know a bunch of esoteric recipes unless you want to make stupidly powerful poisons, but at that point you're powergaming and probably looked up recipes on the internet anyway.

The first like...5 times I played golden Sun and TLA I completely ignored the class system and just summon rushed everything. Got 100% completion though.

In Skyrim I've never once done alchemy or enchanting.

In Pokemon I completely ignore EV training.

In Dark Souls I've never used magic.

Oh, you mean that band of sad pathetic weaklings that I slaughter everytime I start a playthrough because of how pathetic they are?

You don't need JSPs to one shot deathclaws with Paciencia.

I did not know that, whenever I saw a Deathclaw I just instinctively used the best ammo I had because I didn't want to take a chance on missing the second shot considering the iron sights were misaligned (and on the base gun, the hunting rifle as well.) I normally cruised around with Ratslayer with Match hand loads and only pulled out Paciencia for things that absolutely needed to die in one shot

I literally just learned how to properly use Map Notes in Morrowind: http://vegtabill.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/vegtabills-guide-to-map-notes-in-tes3.html

I've known of their existence for years, but didn't realize some of their deeper workings.
