Their cheap tickets are nothing but a disguise to use them. Once you buy their ticket, everything else cost money within the service. Asking help from them to print your ticket or check your bag cost 10 dollars. Most other airlines changes your like 30-50 bucks for a heavy bag at 50ilb limits. Spirit charges you fucking 70 dollars at a 40lb limit. Want a specific seat even if it's just an economy seat? That'll cost 8 dollars. Want anything to drink while on the plane? That'll cost you. They charge you for every fucking thing, I'm surprised they don't change you for using their bathrooms. Don't use them. They are shit.

Nope. All other airlines I've used give you free non-alcoholic drinks and snacks. They let you choose where you want to sit unless it's business class. Better deals on heavy luggage too.

when you use any airline, you're indirectly paying for all of those things, you just don't realize it. Spirit just itemizes it so you can pay for just what you need. But yes, the super low sticker price should be taken with a grain of salt due to there being a charge for everything

Most "upscale" airlines have a lot of these amenities included in their higher ticket prices. American, United, Southwest, Delta, etc. typically will allow you a carry-on for free, and some still allow up to 1 checked-in bag for free. The in-flight drink is complementary, and on most flights, seats don't cost extra unless you are travelling first or business class.

Budget airlines like Spirit, Allegiant, and Frontier sell cheaper flight tickets for people who do not want or need any of the amenities. It's an a la carte flight that's best for single passengers who don't take much with them. They will charge you for everything, including carry-on luggage, any seats that aren't middle seats in the last three rows, check-in baggage, drinks, and even services like early check-in or printing your boarding pass. On the flip side, if you don't use those features, you get to fly for super cheap and they typically offer nonstop flights that other airlines don't offer.

not quite, Spirit charges extra for a lot of things most airlines don't, like getting help with printing your ticket or an in-flight beverage.

I like Frontier, personally. Over the summer I paid $100 for a round trip flight from Cleveland to San Diego. I had to bring a bag which added on the price, but still it totalled only $160 while every other airline was $300+. If you know what you're getting into the cheaper airlines are pretty good for what they are

I've only flown spirit once. I wasn't gonna go to Vegas for. My cousins 21st Bday so my aunt bought my ticket and said be there.

The way there wasn't too bad. I don't mind flying alone and do it frequently and had a good buzz going anyways.

The way back however the plane was shaking like crazy. Turbulence isn't uncommon on take off from Vegas but this was like nothing I'd ever experienced and I had a white knuckle grip on armrest. The girl sitting next to me started holding/rubbing my hand saying "it's ok spirit has old planes. This is normal, we'll be fine." it was the most emasculated I've ever felt.
