It doesn't offend people. It just irks them when the person says they worked hard when all they did was be born with a silver spoon.

Some people who might be a little envious think of it as money not earned or worked for.

think about it this way

lets say sballen left gamefaqs and gave his authority to some random CEman that is not you and that you have butt heads with in the past

would that not make you somewhat upset?

I don't recall anyone seriously suggesting a 100% inheritance tax rate, so the good news is that nobody has an issue with saving some for the next generation.

Yeah, but typically it's a family member leaving something to another one. Randomly giving it away is much a different situation.

Yeah, but typically it's a family member leaving something to another one. Randomly giving it away is much a different situation.

technically such a person decides to leave it to their child long before said child is born

sometimes they might not even like their personality or agree with how they would use the money but it is still their child

so I think random works

and if you still disagree, then instead lets say one day sballen is like, "I always thought of this CEman like a son"

I believe this differed from state to state, but when I studied real estate in Louisiana, there was a portion (I think 50%) that you are legally required to divide among your children.

Dunno about it promoting inequality, but affirmative action is the definition of racism

Affirmative action limits the number of Asian and Caucasian American spots in the job market and places glass ceilings on them for promotions and stuff. It also makes them score much higher on tests. It's also racist because it says that some races need a leg up when others are "overachievers."

Our country is steering back in the direction of a best man gets the job economy.
