Not Iscariot, I feel bad for Thaddaeus. The other Judas. But that's kinda my point though, the second you saw this topic your mind instantly went to Iscariot and assumed I was going to say some horrible anti-Christian/Jesus thing.

gZVgleo

The guy dedicated his life to being an Apostle and then his name is tarnished like that so bad that retroactively whenever people talk about him (which is rare to begin with) they literally don't use his name and call him Jude or Thaddaeus .

Just imagine if a close friend of yours with similar values and the same name went on a killing/raping spree. Imagine how awkward it would be and how everyone would look at you and say your name with venom even though you hadn't done anything. Carrying connotations of deception and evil.

I suppose the modern equivlent would be like being called Hanz Hitler or something and then everyone has to call him Hanz or Hittles.

Iscariot was actually the favorite of Jesus and he got secret teachings. The others were jealous that is why they spread lies about him. Read about it in the Gospel of Judas
