Military - proud, but also depends on the branch. Go Navy, beat Army, and down with the Air Force.

Police - depends on which municipality. Wealthy suburb or small town? Neat. Chicago? Worried.

Sometimes it feels like the police in this country are fighting a war against their fellow citizens.

As someone who was a police officer for seven years, I wouldnt want my daughter to take that avenue. Id rather her be an attorney. However, if she wanted to be a law enforcement officer I would absolutely be proud of her.

For the military, Id rather she didnt, but if she is passionate about it then Id certainly be proud of her for that as well.

I guess proud, but I'll be more concerned because they're risking their life.

Military, would depend on what they plan to do. If it's a non combat job, sure go ahead. You'll get some good benefits from being in the military.

Police, meh.

Concerned if they joined the military as funding is an issue here and I just wouldn't trust the leadership or the politicians. The forces families and community are by and large a good bunch, it's the issues of provision and politics that would make me concerned though.

With the police it would depend what region. The police in my region are a really good bunch so I would be proud of them.
