So actually I wouldn't call that Idol bullshit. The Joe idol was replaces with a way that was similar to how it was found. The Ryan idol replaced with a gimmicky way similar to the one he found. I am cool with it.

I'm still sad about Lauren and I don't think she'll play again but I want her to.

I called it bullshit last week. There shouldn't have been a second idol hidden so long as the original merge idol was still in play.

I disagree with a second merge idol's existence but it's been consistent since Caramoan iirc.

In terms of winner contenders at this point, I've had Lauren and Devon about even since merge, so Devon is my top contender now, with Mike in 2nd. Ben would be dead after receiving another "I don't need the million I have my family" quote and apparently making Mike cry next episode, but I have a slight feeling he's another "taking a shit on Edgic" winner like Adam which puts him ahead of Ashley/Chrissy/Ryan. Chrissy is almost certainly a losing finalist, and I think Ashley could be the other one.

Why in the hell would Mike betray Lauren so viciously and then still vote with her against Ben? What if Ben did actually go home, does he think he's going to tell her "my bad" and get back her trust / jury vote? Did he forget he's still technically in the minority? For fucks sake, I thought Doctors were supposed to be intelligent?!

He definitely has a comeback kid narrative that only builds on itself every episode. It's actually pretty enjoyable.

He did say he was gonna make all of them disappear.

Well you know you shouldn't do what he's doing but he does have 3 healers on that jury. He only has to turn 2 other people to win the game. Yeah Lauren probably won't be one of them despite being a good sport in her final words but maybe one of the other 3 will be.

Except for that atrocious reward challenge, that was a phenomenal episode and suddenly I am LOVING this season, even if it will go forward without Lauren. And yeah, she was an idiot to give Dr. Mike collateral. She could have used that idol.

I also believe this is the first time anyone has been sent home with one vote by way of an idol. But that Tribal was hectic and the buildup to it was crazy. Best episode of the season, even with the reward non-challenge. A 100% luck challenge has no place in Survivor. "Rock draw decides who wins reward" is not good TV. Should have instead been them both picking rocks at the same time, consciously choosing black or white. That is "being in sync."

But yeah, LOVED the second half of this episode. Optimistic going forward!

I'd like it in a way where the castaway shows the first marble. So the loved one has a baseline to discern if there might be a pattern, like BWBW or BBWBBW or BWBBWB. Obviously, if there was a tie because of that pattern stuff for a few rounds, they would add a purple marble (merge color) to make things more complicated. Easily workable challenge. Better than the unwatchable waste of time we got.

stephen said on the podcast that it's likely they had a real challenge that had some error (?) in testing/dream team and so instead they just used marbles
