The Flash was okay. Grant Morrison's Happy debuted on Syfy today. Might wanna check that out.

Still need to watch Legends and yesterday's Lucifer.

Flash was... alright. I'm not sure I like that they replaced The Thinker's actor like that. The ending was kind of interesting, at least.

Legends was really good. The premise of the episode was absurd in the best way, and Younger Martin's actor killed it in that scene with Jax at the end.

I still gotta watch the crossover. I also apparently missed a new Lucifer because when it had a rerun last week I thought it was already done with the midseason whoops.

Legends was amazing. I gasped so loudly at Constantine.

Supergirl was actually a really good midseason finale. Genuinely interested in where it goes (except for everything James related, obviously).

Flash was really fun and I did not expect the twist. This should also be interesting. But if Barry reveals to the world that he's the Flash before Oliver reveals he's Green Arrow, that will be so maddening.

Legends was fun as always. Should be interesting how the rest of the season goes. Really want to know who Mallus is.

I have absolutely no faith in Arrow tomorrow though. None. This season has been so all over the place and it barely seems cohesive at this point with plot threads everywhere. Plus Olicity marriage out of nowhere. Plus the fact that they still haven't shown freaking Richard Dragon yet, and they have made Michael Emerson's character just a giant who gives a shit. This season is the drizzling shits. Season 4 was just anger-inducingly bad. But this is just boring for the most part.

Unless the Flash midseason finale is amazing I'm putting it behind Arrow. Nothing it has done this season so far has beaten the 2 episodes of Deathstroke's return. I mean I'd say the best part of Flash this season is literally Ralph.

Every time I see Ralph, I just imagine three seasons from now when Sue Dibny and Doctor Light...you know what's coming.

Hopefully that ruins the character for you like it does for me.

Finally finished the Punisher. Very good, although it should've been way shorter. The entire middle of the show was essentially just filler. Bernthal is sooo good though, and Frank's relation with Micro was so well done. Ben Barnes as Billy Russo was also real good.

Also still enjoying Runaways. Cool to finally see everyone come together in a big "look at my superpowers!" thing.

Current ranking of Marvel shows:

Jessica Jones > Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. > Daredevil > The Punisher > Defenders > Agent Carter > Luke Cage > Iron Fist > Inhumans

First one and last two are very easy, everything in between was pretty hard to rank for me, although Luke Cage is probably also in its rightful place.

Incidentally, are the Hellblazer comics worth reading? I like what I've seen of the character on Legends, but it sounds like the source material is a lot darker.

The comics are definitely worth reading. Pick up Originals Sins or even Dangerous Habits, considered the best Constantine story.

Lucifer is always the best show.

But man, Arrow. Arrow where nobody acts in a logical way. Absolutely no reason for Rene to not tell the team immediately. And big lol at the big bad being a bunch of random people, of which we really only care about one or two of them.

Because they were too cowardly to have everyone fucking die on that island like they should have. Let's be honest - the show would have had the potential to be great again if no one but 1 or 2 islanders got off in time.

I'm fine with them living. It's just dumb they constantly have the team split up and then get back together. I mean it has happened a couple times already

Better solution: Kill Felicity. She adds nothing and is only a detriment, especially with Curtis there. There is absolutely no role that Felicity fills that someone else can't except for being a hole for Oliver.

I'm totally not fine with them living. The ending was set up for someone important to die. It was set up to be a capstone on five seasons - the end of the basic conceit of the show had come, and the island itself was pretty much done for the show's purposes. But of course - OF COURSE - the writers don't understand how to create gravity or substance. So everyone lived because of course they did.

I would have only kept the following alive: Nyssa (guest character), Slade (guest character), Black Canary (too new to get a handle), Mister Terrific (an actual name that matters).

Kill off everyone else.

If they did that we could've had like 8 episodes of Oliver being depressed and no actual crime fighting of any kind or something because the writers are just terrible in general with everything

His son wasn't on the island. And no, it doesn't have to break him. He can be past the break and be a social recluse and a brutal crimefighter again. You can have new people draw him out of that realm of uberviolence if you want.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Season 5 was a total fluke. They lucked into a good season there.

These writers have no clue how to make a compelling story at all. They just stumble there way into making something alright. Or they end up striking gold with something like Slade. I have no idea how they managed to make those two good episodes while the rest has just totally sucked.

I think they just don't know how to write a main villain.

But to be fair, I think they're fairly limited to which villains they can pick. Though I think they wasted Prometheus. Really think they should have just brought back Amanda Waller, and had her be this season's villain. Or someone related to her. Argus would make for more interesting villains than... Cayden James. The season would be more fluid if Waller was behind the FBI investigation, and was doing it because she needed Team Arrow out of the way to let her group of villains (including Black Siren) to do something morally ambiguous, but grey enough where people aren't sure if they want them to succeed or fail.

There is a character in comics named Prometheus.

This character was almost, but not quite, complete unlike Prometheus. Prometheus has one of Batman's best fights and also at one point single-handedly beats the most OP version of the Justice League.

Do I need more of a reason to hate that movie?

I wonder if they could make up a character like Amanda Waller's mother. Call her Miranda Waller, and get C.C.H. Pounder to play her idk. I'm sure they're pretty limited in what they could do (which makes it hard to get a great villain for Arrow).

I feel like the FBI investigation should be tied to the main villains, but really these main villains are terrible to connect them to that. Hopefully Cayden James isn't the top of this food chain, cause that'd be really disappointing. None of these guys are much of a threat.

I don't know if it's confirmed anywhere in exact writing, but I'm pretty sure Arrow was forced to remove all Suicide Squad chatacters because of the movie. That probably is a part of why S3 and maybe S4 had even worse writing and ideas and stuff

I wanted them to do this so bad. And I think you still could've even had a more brutal Oliver with less deaths than you suggest if they still wanted to keep some primary cast members on. Could've moved to a new city, had some solo crime fighting or one partner, a real Longbow Hunters feel.
