This isn't really the same as Simpsonswave. The similarities pretty much stop with the grainy distorted visuals and plunderphonics used in tandem with lofi sound manipulation.

The Simpsonswave videos are all vaporwave (or adjacent) tracks set to discolored videos, which looks similar until you realize that these Zeldawave videos are sampling and remixing videogame soundtracks, specifically from the Zelda franchise, where the Simpsonwave backing tracks were often assembled from less recognizable and less fewer-assembled sources. Then there's Simpsons videos samples, which aren't actually directly connected to the content of the song, and so becomes another aspect of the fabric assembling this whole experience. This gives Simpsonswave videos, and really vaporwave in general, the impression of being more about its aesthetic impression (rediscovering and plundering the discarded relics of 80's and early 90's capitalism) than the quality of the music (admittedly inconsistent and often unlistenable, unless you happen to like the song it was sampled from).

Where Simpsonswave still manages to possibly comment on nostalgia, and the transient nature of commercialism in mass media as a whole, with occasional success as a listenable genre, Zeldawave does not. Zeldawave doesn't really seem to comment on anything. Not the nostalgia for the golden age of video games, nor the nostalgia of looking back and seeing at how the Zelda franchise as changed. Consider too, how much it borrows from vaporwave's toolbox to create its sound and to reference its aesthetic, without actually saying anything. I'm not saying it's artistically vapid, but it's certainly less complex. Whether or not Zeldawave is successful depends entirely on whether or not you like what you're hearing.
