Let's say a game is easy even on normal and hard mode. And then once you beat the hard mode then an insane difficult mode unlocks. Does that make up for the game being too easy?

Depends. My favorite game is radiata stories and it's the world, gameplay and music that I love. The fact it's easy makes it relaxing and easy to go back to every few years

It depends on where the game gets its difficulty from, IMO. Is it a platformer where the difficulty comes from level design? Or a sports game where the difficulty comes from AI opposition?

The Last of Us for example. It was advertised as a 3rd person sneak, action and survival horror game. But I mean they let you restart the scenario as many times as you need, literally gives you wall hacks and puts you in the perfect place to start every time there is a group of hostiles coming at you. I'd say it is rather an easy game even on hard mode but everyone always argue that playing it on Grounded more than makes up for it being an easy game. --- Don't like it? Don't watch it.
