People are calling BS on Twitch and this led to a huge drama on social media where whiteknight big Twitch streamers are standing up for the camgirls that many of them are "friends" with and then you have a bunch of other big male and female normal game streamers taking issue with them ruining the site and making it not about gaming or game culture anymore and like a softcore camgirl site which is bad because it attracted a new audience to the website that was never there before.

That video was well done.

The primary burden does fall on twitch to enforce the rules (or not to). Its their choice whether to let camgirls persist or not, and its their choice to let that have a place in their community. I personally think it lowers the integrity of the site, but hey its a business and they want to make money. Also, people have the option of simply not watching the camgirls.

From a business perspective, this is good for twitch. Their primary audience is foreveralone gamers, and camgirls can easily get a rise out of them. White knights will donate and... you guys know the rest.

The best solution, but impossible solution, is simply for the community to stop watching the cam girls. They are basically paying for soft core interactive porn. And like the video mentioned, females that want to show actual talent are overlooked. But guys be thirsty and wont stop donating to baseless causes.

I know this is going to sounds incredibly sexist, and most of you may disagree, but I believe this is the reason why some guys and to an extent, some girls don't take females seriously in gaming sites or others industries.

When some of them see a situation where they are getting attention, they will flaunt their assets so that they can take advantage of it. And when someone calls them out for it, that person is labelled a sexist and people will start claiming how 'exclusive' the industry is.

It damages both the males who hate these people since they don't even like videogames, and the females who actually WANT to play videogames. I have no respect for these assholes.

I told my wife about this. And cosplayers in general.

She said if she was younger (not that she's old, like back in her earlier 20's) she would jump all over this.

She couldn't believe how much money some of these girls make.

BUT. She also brought up a great point. She probably wouldn't have a career at this point if she did that.

These girls are making some quick and easy cash based on looks and age. Once those looks fade, good bye cash flow. And once their audience moves on, good bye cash flow.

So while it's relatively profitable now. It's no different than an aging porn star trying to stay relevant once a new generation comes in.

This goes for cosplayers like Nigri. Her whole appeal is blonde with big boobs. Once she gets old, she will be forgotten. And unless she's made great investments, she'll be broke given the lifestyle she has.

Yeah. When I worked retail, there was this semi-deformed middle-aged guy that was a regular. Wed have some decent conversations and off he'd go. After a while, out of the blue one day, he just said thanks for being nice and treating me with respect. Not many people want to talk to me. I appreciate it. I felt so fucking bad for him after that, and it changed my outlook a bit from then on in general. Some people just get dealt a bad hand.

By allowing this type of softcore content, Twitch is showing what kind of site it wants to be. Good or bad I don't care, but people who are heavily invested in the streaming community will of course care more.

Blaming the softcore streamers for this is completely unfair, though, IMO. They're just following the rules as they are implemented. Rant about Twitch and not about "stupid sluts who steal your viewers" and maybe I would have more sympathy with the guy getting a five day ban.

To be fair, if you feel like your defense is "sluts who steal viewers" you aren't that interesting to watch to begin with. There are enough male streamers who pull between 10-40k viewers on a daily basis. If you are lacking viewers, than the problem isn't minimally dressed women.
