Just getting frustrated/mad that everyone is a disorganized mess even though it's literally not my job to organize people

I tried to make it my job, but it is not, and the way I was passed up for it was super shitty so I'm not going to continue to do things that are not my responsibility while getting none of the compensation/benefits that comes with those duties (ie full time/guaranteed min hours, making more than minimum wage).

Eh, being a manager at that stuff usually bites anyway. Increased payrate is usually nowhere near the amount of compensation you should be getting for, the stupid amount of hours and stress they're tacking on.

Where I work, promotions are a sign of recognition that you're taking on the responsibilities of said title already. You prove your worth, and then get promoted to recognize your new role. Did you ever consider that they want you managing other part-timers to show them that you're capable before giving you a title that's hard to remove? It's entirely possible your shitty "not my job" attitude is the very reason you were passed up.

Then he may as well quit. If he's not going to even attempt to put in the effort necessary to earn a promotion (anymore), but he has aspirations for more than his current title, than his current job is a literal dead end.

I have been doing the job I was passed up for for the past year+. I have shown my worth and have been told by others in management that I'm the choice when a position opens up.

My manager didn't even bother interviewing me, so higher ups don't even see that I applied/showed initiative.

I'm in a semi-similar situation. Coworker that has the same position as me has been incapable of completing even the simplest of tasks right, yet has been given what amounts to rewards. Meanwhile I have a stupid workload on me, and I'm asked to help train someone that refuses to just ask if they don't understand what they're doing? While they keep getting rewarded? AND I'm not getting a raise?

Hard pass.
