My buddy who graduated with a systems management degree (in logistics) has been at it for almost an entire year now. He did get a job about a month ago but somehow hurt his back on the first day and was stuck home for two weeks. Sucks for him but I'm hoping he'll get something in time for the start of next year.

I tried to get internships in my senior year (when I actually had learned somethings), but apparently they only want freshmen, because they all want to interview for positions 18 months in the future.

I had my pharmacy residency locked before I graduated, so I've never been without a job.

I had a job setup for when I graduated. Unfortunately, I hated it and quit a couple months later.

Went straight into grad school, and will go straight into a postdoc. After that is the crapshoot though.

6 months. But I always planned to take a 3 month "summer vacation" after graduating, so really it took me 3 months of actually applying for jobs to get something. Also, the job wasn't related to my field at all.

Actually, I should clarify that it took 5 months to get a job in my field. I had a call center job at a bank that I got a month after graduating so I could at least make some money.

Graduated this May, spent like a month and a half just unwinding, then got a job right at the beginning of August at this shitty company that lied to me about what I'd be doing and what they had for me to do, and they ended up laying me off at the end of August after I took care of some bitch work tasks they had me do.

Then I was unemployed from September until the middle of November when I started the job I'm in currently.

Worked a 3 year unpaid internship while in college. I graduated in May and decided to never look at my field again. I got a job with FedEx a few weeks after graduating. Going to college is my biggest regret and really set me back in life.

Horrible. People over the phone are the absolute worst. I had a woman start screaming at me because I couldnt stop her mortgage payment and it was going to bounce. Like fuck lady, manage your own shit. Every day, people treated me like I wasnt an actual person. Pretty much every day was filled with abusive customers who would berate or yell at me for stupid shit I had no control over.

The hours were terrible, I had days where my shift was 3pm-midnight and other shifts that were 6am-3pm. In the same week. You had to clock in and your time was recorded by a software. You had 10 min breaks and 30 minute lunch, but if your call didnt end before your lunch started, it still counted as your lunch. It was messed up, sometimes I had 5 minutes to eat. Same with breaks so I often didnt take any. They did offer buffer time, you had a set amount in the week but they considered it delinquent time or something and it wasnt a lot.

It paid $18.75 an hour though and it was good money. But I quit after 2 months, I couldnt deal with it and it was making it more difficult to actually find a job in my field.

Have never been unemployed for long, a month at most.

As far as a high salary job I like... still going through the application process.

I was basically working at least one part time job for two years after graduation. I graduated in spring '10, worked part-time in retail through the summer, picked up a second part-time job at the end of that summer, and finally went full-time in the January 2012.

I should also clarify, that this was by design. I had applied back in March of that year and was slowly making headway through HR and such, when I got a timeframe of when to expect to be hired I decided to take that summer and relax/travel/etc. it up
