I think that's the one way to defend yourself against all of your money getting wiped. I'm pretty sure they don't take away anything you buy, even with modded money

I have ~70 million in cash between my two characters right now and about 50 x80s to sell if my money gets wiped like it did a few hours after Gunrunning launched

The term for people who spend ungodly amounts of money in F2P games is "whales".
You can argue GTAOnline is not F2P as you have to buy the base game but the online part is very F2P-like. As the updates are free and you can grind to eventually play the new content. But it is F2P like cause rewards are very low for the amount of time spent and you are encouraged to be heavily carried or spend real cash to not play the game to access the newer content.

GTA Online is the only online game I've ever cheated in. A friend and I just gave ourselves money to try out all of the vehicles and they all got boring to use in like 20 minutes. After that, the game took away all of his money and not mine though lol. Haven't played since then, I gave the game a lot of chances but I always end up not liking it. I'm glad I didn't waste time or money with that shit. I'm also not excited for RDR2 at all because of this game.

Tfw the Delorean car is everything I hoped for and more (it actually flies)

I got 20 million wiped but was still able to buy everything I wanted...which was all of the military and flying/submersible vehicles minus that riot truck with water turrets for both of my characters
