Was looking through some stuff earlier and cringed when I noticed I had used "often" twice in the same sentence. I then went through the rest of the document and noticed I had waaaaay too often used "often." Granted, "frequently" doesn't look quite as nice and "usually" implies a far greater frequency.

I often use it the same reasons you've listed. Other terms just seem to imply more frequency than often does.

Not sure how often I often. But I often try to use synonyms to avoid using a word too often.
