An alcoholic and total fuck up of a dad has a house full of 6 kids in southside, inner city chicago that he basically doesn't take care of and they kind of look after themselves. Frank is probably the best character of the show, always getting into drunken antics. The kids all have their own personalities and interesting plotlines going on. Watch the pilot. It's not only one of the best pilots I've ever seen, it also introduces all the characters in the first scene and sets u up really nicely for the rest of the show. --- Getting girls is all about honesty. The show insists the subject matter is funny but I can't see past the despair of generational poverty and the tragedy of kids being forced to raise one another because their parents have escaped into substance abuse. It's heartbreaking. As messy as that family is, I think they deserve justice that I know the show will never deliver it because it's a primetime sitcom and those never end. --- Whatever happened to standards? I kinda despised Frank at first too but That season 4 finale when I thought he was gonna die and then he gets a new liver and has that gorgeous scene at the Chicago river with Carl.
