i actually don't tip baristas either. im big on tipping for good service, but baristas just do their job and hand you something. there's no service there

They aren't getting paid $3 hourly like servers are. They make at least min wage, prob more depending on the coffee shop.

Servers make minimum wage too. If they don't get enough from tips, then their employer has to make up the difference.
