I haven't used OKC in a good year or so, but I remember it being good because anyone could message anyone. Now, after a few tries, I can still message people, but it's making me LIKE them first. The fuq?

Last thing I want to do is have my first impression come across as that guy who sent me a double-notification.

Ehhhh I think it gets a bad rep. Yes, it's painful at first, but I've definitely had more success meeting people online than I ever did IRL.

And they don't fall in love by looking at each other through a screen. At least in real life you can go up, say hi, and make an instant connection.

Still pissed they took away who viewed you. I think for girls it wouldve been somewhat useless tbh but for guys if a girl viewed your profile a couple times...usually that meant she was actually somewhat into you. Very easy way to gauge interest. Now its basically a shot in the dark.

This is part of the problem -- Anyone I want to message, I have to like first. There is no point in just liking someone, because there's a 99.9% chance that they're not paying for the ability to see who liked them.

I can tell when I get liked, as the little star in the upper right corner has a number on it that goes up when someone likes you. But again, it's incredibly suspect when someone likes but doesn't message.

Are you telling me that any message I send will not be received unless they like me back too!?

Pretty much. Men outside of the top 10% in looks need to rely more on their social skills/confidence to reel in women, which is difficult to do not in person.
