The X-Universe as it is doesn't fit neatly enough into the MCU which means it's dead as soon as Disney can make it happen.

He's not, actually. But weirdly enough, they've created a set of twins in the MCU who are in their early twenties in 2011, and a boy in his teens in the early 70s with a small sister born at least a decade later in the X-verse. In the MCU, the twins are given powers through Loki's scepter, and in the X-verse, Quicksilver is a mutant.

So you've got these kids who could conceivably have just been given codenames based on their abilities, and you've got these kids from 40 years ago who have mutant abilities. You could make that work theoretically! They won't

Several of those things are really money killers for them. Legion is not MCU but it also can be NOT not MCU. It's not in or out of any continuity right now. No reason to cancel it. Deadpool is safe, New Mutants is finished, so it costs them nothing to make a quick 100+ million on it. Remember, it becomes Fox's loss now. The answer with the X-Men is that they're going to be midbooted into the MCU like Spider-Man. You probably start with Wolverine and work your way from there.

The relevant thing in this news for most people is the availability of Fox content on Netflix now that disney has a controlling share of Hulu and also is planning their own digital streaming service.

In the comics, the Inhumans and the Mutants have in the past stemmed from the same mutation originally. This changes from time to time, but you could just wipe the hell out of the Inhumans and say a New World Order is coming to roost.

I think they could throw in mutants without it being odd or anything. They already have aliens and Spider-Man and Hulk are close enough to mutants even if they weren't born with the mutant gene or whatever they want to roll with.

Hasn't Fox already fucked it up enough. Apocalypse was awful. The casting in the newer films is bad. Jennifer Lawrence is a horrible Mystique and they continue to try and focus on her.

Logan was good. I liked the original trilogy for the most part. Deadpool was fun for being different. The Wolverine was alright.

But, Apocalypse and First Class was wackkk.

Fantastic Four is honestly harder because they've driven it into the ground over at Fox. The X-Men are super-easy (in my opinion) because you can handwave the other movies as "the secret history of the world" - people were told of these events but they were reinterpreted by men like Nick Fury as something else (a Men in Black vibe if you want to call it that).

You only have to deal with 3 films to integrate this: First Class, DoFP and Apocalypse. New Mutants is going to be its own thing. Deadpool is its own thing. They have no real with which to screw.

That means, essentially, you have the government cover up three public events, all of which were decades ago.

I'd also position mutants as better than Inhumans and long-lived (kind of like some Inhumans). Have the mutants wipe out Earthbound Inhumans and push them as a big threat to humankind in the public eye once it leaks that they are in fact real. Nick Fury could be a great part of this storyline - he could have been involved from the ground up on covering up the mutant threat.

Or if you're rebooting, just midboot them like Spider-Man. Those are the two solutions.
