I was about 9-10 in 2000 when my brother told me he found out from a friend of his. Then in 2001 was when I knew the truth for real but parents still did the Santa gifts.

When I confirmed to my parents that I knew, Mom told me to not tell other kids and let them believe. I remember being in 7th grade and a few kids still believed. But I remember being 14 and a kid in my class still believed and naturally he got his ass made fun of.

On a side note, Chris Chan has said he found out when he was 16 but gave up on Santa officially at 25 when Santa hadnt brought him a girlfriend for 3 years in a row. The saddest part is when he was 22-23 for Christmas he got his dad Fraggle Rock on VHS, his mom a broken Hamtaro toy because it was cheap but spent his money on presents for the girlfriend Santa was meant to bring him.

What truth, what are you talking about?

5 or 6 (1988/89) Friends and family around for a party on Christmas Eve and Day. When Santa showed up I noticed one of our friends was missing. Same thing had happened the year prior and I clued in. Santa being real or not was never really a point of discussion when I was a kid, but I just realized there were so many (malls, etc) and clearly not the same person.

My grandma told me when I was around 11 as I was getting to old to still believe, but I already figured it out a few years earlier when I found the stash of presents in the basement. I just played along with it as I saw no reason to ruin it for my younger brothers. There was also a time when I was even younger that santa came over and when my mom took a picture, I looked up and could see my dads face under the beard. I also saw him getting into his van he parked a little ways down the street after leaving.
