I use "Superior" instead of heartwarming to display the point.

He says "Oh blacks and blacks!" or "Girls and girls" and I use "You people" to demonstrate the point that he's just soft segregating groups and that attitude feeds into the lack of cohesion society has where everyone is so divided and segmented.

We're not humans, we're black female American which is wildly different to white male French for incredibly important reasons that TC can't explain but will insult you if you say no such reasons actually exist.

Oh, please. As if it's the younger audience who ever had a problem with this. You should look instead at the the 20 and 30-somethings who are professionally outraged about race and sex in movies. It's not the 50 and older crowd. They don't give a shit. It's not the kids either. Are you going to tell me that non-white teens, for example, did not cheer for Han Solo in the original trilogy just because he looked different from them? No. He was a cool character and you wanted him, Luke, Leia and Lando to save the day. Likewise, consider all the people who connect with Darth Vader as their favorite character (or even their favorite villain of all time) even though you never see what he is underneath the armor until the very end.

If the character is written well and has an interesting design, people will identify with him or her.

I don't understand why it matters if they do or they don't. If they're attached, they're attached. I don't think kids actually think "I like this character but I wish they had tits!" unless adults pressure them into that logic.

I guess it's nice in that it's easier to make a costume for, and obviously the larger the variance of characters the larger the variance of costumes. But other than that. I don't get the relevance.
