Not hate, I guess that's a strong word. But...they weren't really sure how to feel about it, I guess. At least, that's what I've heard from a few geezers who remember that time.

Not from what I remember, like not at all. My earliest school memory is my Kindergarten teacher reading us an Empire picture book. It was everywhere and everyone loved it. My family was struggling at the time and all the church people bought me Empire toys. I don't remember any hate, but I was a kid. I feel like the reception was more "unsure" about it. Yeah, loads of people loved it, but I've heard quite a few people said they weren't really sure if it was as good as A New Hope. To paraphrase their words, "It was a good movie...it just felt off somehow." ... Copied to Clipboard!
