My dad does this and doesn't stop.

He'll call me and if I don't pick up he'll leave a voicemail that just says "Megatech this is your father". Caller ID has been around for eons. No shit it's you dad!

My voice mail recording at work explicitly tells people that I don't check my voice mails so there's no point in leaving one.

I don't mind if you try to call me instead of emailing me. I get it....but if you don't reach me then shoot me an email.

I would prefer not to read them at all. But if I have to then using up less time would be better. So you're correct with that.
