Thinking of getting it, but not sure if I want to get a game without lootboxes.

Also does it do anything to set itself apart from Farcry/Assassin'sCreed/ShadowofMordor and other map clutter games?

No lootboxes (that you purchase with any real world currency). The game itself does award crates that will have crafting mats, weapon mods, etc. in them, but these are not purchasable in any way. They're just quest rewards. The game doesn't really follow the standard map clutter formula that Ubisoft titles do. You'll have your side quests, some collectibles, etc., but the world isn't oversaturated with either. There are some generic and forgettable side errands, but most of the side missions you'll get will be detailed and have you following a little mini-storyline.

The real joy of the game just comes from exploring and battling the different machines. Early on, when you aren't used to the combat or exploiting weaknesses, especially when you don't have the gear, every encounter will feel like a mini boss fight. I loved it.
