I'd go back in time so I can tell myself at this moment to go back in time.

For most people, being 6 again means 10 years or so of boredom before you can realistically change anything outside of your personal life. There's just no way for a kid to influence world events, and most of us wouldn't have significant money to invest as children. On the plus side, you would have a lot of time to learn new things and better yourself, but that's a lot of work and might not end up making you any richer than if you just took the money. Without a good plan and a lot of discipline, the money seems like the safer option.

Plenty of time to play through your backlog

It's interesting a lot of people are talking about trying to prevent 9/11 or guess at other world events they could influence.

I absolutely would not prevent 9/11

I definitely would not prevent 9/11 either, considering I was 3 when it happened oops.

also 9/11 is directly attributable to many of the woes facing america today such as, to varying degrees, xenophobia and islamaphobia, suppression of civil rights a la gitmo and the patriot act, trillions spent on pointless war and in general a culture of fear and reactionism

Who cares about the people you didn't meet when you can also factor in the people you do meet. Plus, maybe you can fix relationships with people that didn't go the way you wanted.

Personally, I look at it as a chance to start on my career sooner, since I did a lot of nothing in my twenties. If I decide to pursue my writing, I can even be doing that from the get-go.

That would put me in 1993, when I could ask my parents to buy me a crapload of Unlimited and Arabian Nights Magic: The Gathering cards. Flash forward to 2011, sell it all, and put all the money into bitcoin.

Yeah, I'd go back in time.

Preventing 9/11 would have such a drastic effect on future events, that much of the knowledge you traveled back in time with would probably be rendered useless.

I was 20 when 9/11 happened, so I'd have plenty of time to make use of before stuff got weird.

Though I have to wonder, after 14 years of generally knowing the world, would I fear the uncertainty that followed? Would the butterfly effect cause enough deviation that it would all be completely different by that point anyway? I guess it depends on if you believe the flow of time is a stable or unstable equilibrium.

The past is obdurate.

It's unstable. It'd take a supernatural explanation to have a timeline that resists change in this scenario.

6 y/o

Wait until 2010 when Bitcoin hits the scene, buy like 80,000 of them when they're worth $.0008 for like $65

Sell them when they hit $20k for a profit of $1,600,000,000

Also maybe go to Seattle and meet a young Jeff Bezos and help him get Amazon off the ground. Get that sweet stock.

Go back to 6. Getting decades longer to live with all the knowledge I have now would be great. Also, I would get to relive the prime of my life and this time have the money to enjoy it.

With all the money I would make in markets and vegas I could pursue all my philanthropic interests as well. I feel like I could do a lot of good in the world.

Also build my own future city.

If you asked me this 6 years ago, I'd take the time travel.

Since then I've met my wife, gotten married, had two children that I would do absolutely anything for.

Going back would mean that I may not meet my wife and have my kids, so it's a no brainer for me. Take the 10 million, be smart with it and make sure my kids and family are taken care of.

Im torn. I could use my knowledge to meet a ton of people, but how can i make sure i meet my wife again. Or make sure things work out and we get married again?

There is a lot of inherent risk to the things that went well in your life by going back so far.

Im not sure in could do it.

I have way too much sports knowledge to NOT make use of time travel, plus extra youth. I go back to being a kid.
