Would you rather go back to being 6 y/o keeping your current knowledge or get $10 MILLION?

If you become 6 y/o again you'll also go back in time to when you were 6 y/o. If you were born in 2000 you would be back in 2006.

If you get $10 million, it's your choice if it's in cash or wired to your bank, it's tax free, and you can use it however you want.

But which will you pick?

6 years old, easily. The novels I write were in part based around the idea of a character who effectively had the opportunity to do so. (Except they started over in a brand new life instead of repeating their old one.) It's an idea I've been obsessed with, and would take over almost any other option you offered me.

This is a really cool question because with the amount of money I would have at my current age after going back to being 6... I wouldn't be living even remotely the same life, meaning I probably wouldn't have met many current friends or my partner. Even though I'd know where to find them... things wouldn't begin organically and likely wouldn't work out at all.

With the $10 million I could keep what I have and be "fine" with money.. whereas going back would completely change the course of my life and make me unfathomably rich.

I'd probably take the cash.

I would not want to go back to having very little control over my life, like kids do. We think that we would go back and change things in our favor but I don't know, there has to be a big feeling of helplessness as well when you can't change something.

I also met my wife by pure chance. If I went back in time and tried to meet her again, I'd probably fuck it up somehow. I wouldn't change anything in my past.

A lot of you guys saying stuff like "who would trust a 6 year old?" More like "why WOULDN'T you trust a 6 year old who suddenly has knowledge of things they shouldn't have?" I mean, I'm no genius, but I have a biology degree. Just toss out some knowledge of genetics, cell biology, anatomy, microbiology, etc. and people will pay attention.

I would sponsor artists, authors, musicians, athletes, etc. who I know will be famous in the future. Hell, I'd give Justin fucking Beiber a hundred bucks and tell him to pay me back with a million when he makes it big. I'd do it with all the big stars. Sure, maybe SOME of them won't pay me back, but I bet some will.

And let's not even get into politics/historical events. I'm actually more scared that the government will keep me under surveillance, but that might not necessarily be bad. I'd probably get a nice stipend from them with my ability to predict terrorist attacks and high-profile crimes. Though that opens a whole new can of worms. If I warn people about 9/11, how would everything that's happened since then change?

And on a personal note, I'd be able to save my friend from the abuse she suffered as a child. That alone would make time travel worth more than 10 mill.

Even if they don't trust you, there are more... clever ways of changing things. Stop 9/11 by phoning in a threat the night before. Even if it seems ridiculous, they'll probably amp up security the next day just to be on the safe side.

Being a 20 something year old trapped in a 6 year olds body sounds god awful. I can't imagine what affect this would have on not just me but my family and friends as well. Well, I know I wouldn't even have my current group of friends that's for sure. Parents wouldn't get to raise me as I'd already be an adult mindset wise, brothers would probably resent me foe being the one who knows everything. Plus whatever else.

Give me the 10 million.

Sure easily I'd go back to being 6. It sounds like a blast. It wouldn't remember too much for lottery winnings or individual sports wins, but if it happened right now off the top of my head I'd remember apple red sox tesla bitcoin and set myself up

There are a few minor things about certain points in my life that I'd change that would cause drastic differences in the way my life is now, but for the most part I'd just live my life as it was because it was pretty fun the first time.

I'd definitely skip out on clicking the message board to argue about character votes in 2003 though.

i didn't particularly like being a kid, but i'd pick the time travel just to get the extra time being alive. don't particularly regret anything, just think it would be fun.

either choice would be neat, although i'm surprised anyone was going for the raw cash.

would be so easy to make that equivalent money some other way with your new super powers of investment. not to mention having an adult perspective at an earlier age is a huge advantage

i guess it would be sad to lose your important relationships. if you have kids it almost seems like you'd have to choose the money. i suppose in my case i'd absolutely go back in time and see my parents and siblings young again and do my best to support who i can

I'd take the money, I don't feel like being stuck as a bored little kid for years before I can really accomplish anything, especially when the big payoff is that at best...I use my knowledge to get even more money than the amount that is already enough to live comfortably with for life? I could make one big change in my actual life but as soon as I did, I'd have thrown off the course of history too badly to anticipate anything in the future. And there's a pretty good chance I'd slip up and screw something up early on anyway (I met one of my best friends because of what seat I happened to sit down in in a certain class, if I behave in any different way those events won't play out the same)

But go back in time and...

Try to prevent 9/11 from happening.
