I'm not going to pretend to be knowledgeable enough to say whether this tax plan will be a success or not, but the one issue with the way Republicans have framed it is that they are saying that business owners will definitely invest the money they're saving into offering more jobs and higher wages, despite literally 0 reason for them to deviate from their usual MO which is to just hoard all of the money they'll save from this bill. There's nothing wrong with giving tax breaks to the rich as long as you include language in the bill that actually motivates or even forces them to use these savings on hiring more people for more money. But again, not going to say that its definitely going to end that way since I don't know nearly enough about tax codes and regulations and the economy in general to make that determination. But this conclusion that we both reached? It seems pretty straightforward and I believe this tax bill will end up biting these Republicans in the ass in the long term, and they really needed a political win since its been nothing but failure after failure since Trump got in office other than the Gorsuch move, but I do believe it'll probably help them hold onto the Senate and maybe even get Trump reelected since its something they can point to that isn't just abject failure. --- Now you can't call me a sigless user. <cite>nicklebro posted [p:892546554] in Breaking: ...
