So the title is a lie, of course I am going to have more than ten words for people because I am me. Anyway Corrik to be is an interesting study of what happens when high analytical intelligence meets low (purposefully dumbed down, even?) emotional intelligence. Corrik is someone who I think is quite clever and knows how to bring concepts together as I have seen him do it in mafia a bunch of times but he often willingly just bulldozes over people. It is something that annoys me in mafia but it is an interesting character study. I think I 'like' Corrik, essentially, but he can grate on me.

Gone for so long now, but a truly brilliant and witty mind. It's hard to describe AT for those who didn't know him, but he was just exceptionally clever and a positive impact on the board to the point that he is remember a very long time after he left this place for other ventures.

Shine is someone I can't quite get a handle on, if I am going to be honest. I feel at times like something sinister and dark looks in his heart, but then he goes back to talking about Detroit sports and random video games and I wonder if it was just the shadow of the sun passing over his face.

I didn't have a problem with Karo until I was shown a chat of him randomly talking shit about me when I haven't spoken to him in ages, that kind of stung a bit. I mean yeah I've never had a problem with Karo really. We've done some gauntlets together, I think he nominated some Waifus for my Waifu project and we run in a few crowds together in the Save My game but until then I just thought to myself 'Karo's an alright guy, pretty ok mafia player too if memory serves!" and then when stuff like that happens it is kind of a shock to the system of how people can perceive me in such a vicious, negative light (and not saying it is undeserved, I've played the crass villain here enough) without me even thinking about it shakes me a bit.

In a twist from Mercs 3 to Mercs 4 I have made my peace with Kanz beating me (and he beat me, Lopen - I am not using my quit to hide the fact I would have lost that just as Tom did, just with much more gusto!) in M4 and think he is a deserving M4 winner.

In fact, Drak, let me borrow a page from your style of story telling.

Kanz is like that mocked squire when he is a young boy. You think, oh he's never going to amount to nothing. Always a pawn. Always used for someone else. But that's the thing about squires in big kingdoms when they study the patterns of the best knights of the realm - they learn and more than that they yearn for that recognition. They don't want to be just a pawn anymore, they want to best those knights and show them that their mockery was foolish of them. That's essentially Kanz. In Mercs 3 he was pathetic, by the time Mercs 4 rolled around he had learned just enough to scrape by. He isn't the best, but he won the prize anyway. He poisoned the other drinks, he took advantage of circumstance, and he let the winds murder everyone around him and he hunched over and survived. Kanz earned my respect because he gave full effort and had nothing better to do than to win.

Still likely sucks at mafia though.

I really like Scarlet, which is why for those who browse his big topic right now I am going out of my way to interact with him in a realm that's not purely in a competition since I can be a dick in those. I think he is insightful, creative, and always offers a good conversation if he is up for it. I remember reading projects of his and finding myself paying rapt attention to the way he describes concepts and understands connections better than most. I also see a bit of myself in him when it comes to the insecurity, I know those feels.

Leon irks me sometimes because I feel as if he gives snarky comments to me when I really don't deserve snarky comments. It is just irritating. It's not world ending, I still mostly like Leon and we have a lot of common interests from sports to final fantasy stuff so it isn't world ending but gosh Leon can just make me sigh some days.

Jeff Zero is amazing, honestly. I love talking to him because I feel as if we get each other and we can cut through the bullshit. The person I probably want to hang out with most from B8 that I haven't yet.

My therapist and I have had a lot of talk about what happens when you stay in one place for so long that others perception of you becomes more than skin deep and changes how you yourself act to live up to those perceptions even if you don't like the perceptions. I talk about this place every now and again to friends and I am like "yeah, there are places on the internet where people think I am a huge asshole" and they just burst out laughing. The side of me that you guys used to see so much - and sometimes still can - is so... detached from me. When I left last year for a few months I knew I had to sort my shit out, plainly speaking. I had just let board 8 become one big filter for all of my negative emotions. I just poured it into this place with no hesitation and no regard to anyone here. People I claimed to care about go no quarter from this action and I hated myself for it so much.

Fuck I wish I wasn't so much of an asshole to a place and to people who have given me so much and who enabled me to get out of my shell and be the good person I am to the people who could never see me as anything other than a cuddly and gentle Hufflepuff.

I wanted to get back to the days where I just contribute and make the place better. Somewhere, many places, I just fucked up badly and I really don't like that I did. I prefer when I am light hearted or invested in a subject I love not when I am always fighting and just being a dick.
