Iirc, there was a ring literally called the Ring of Fire Resistance in D&D Tower of Doom that you could find after you beat the Red Dragon.

If you've played Dark Souls, which has a literal Ring of Fire Resistance - it only provides, IIRC 30 points of it (maybe 60/70, I don't remember). The Orange Charred Ring or whatever it is that lets you walk in lava is closer to what I'm looking for, - a combination of both effects akin to the Varia Suit is about right, but that's why I said Ring of Fire Resistance, to bring it down to classic fantasy.

nah, Neera is great and so is Dorn. Rasaad is ok too. Adding a pure-thief to BG2 is great, although they didn't do it perfectly. High-res is nice, stacking ammo is nice, experience for lockpicking is nice.

some things are definitely not so great, though, like making the interface for the whole of BG black and red just because of their DLC, or the cutscenes, which are better in ways... and not better in ways... (I really miss seeing Sarevok crushing the throat of the guy he kills in the intro, though you can still hear it).
