Welcome everyone to the BEST SIMPSON'S EPISODE EVER TOURNAMENT! PRESENTED BY CURRENT EVENTS!

As the first topic in this idea I've had for awhile, here is the basic groundwork.

INTRODUCTION

I looked at the Top 24 episodes of Simpsons ever, as based on user star ratings on IMDB. The list is from 2015, but I doubt anything in 2015 and beyond would belong on this list. This list has a nice little two sentence explanation of the episode if you do not have episode names memorized. In each topic I will also explain each episode that we are voting on.

Using Challong, I've created a tournament involving the Top 24 episodes of all time!

The 1-8 seeds have a bye in the first round, since that seems appropriate. Every day (or maybe twice a day depending on how 1-sided a vote gets) we will put up a new poll and see which episode out of the two is considered better. Winner moves on, loser is dropped. There will be a third place vote as well.

THE SPRINGFIELD FILES - The X-Files (1993) FBI special agents Mulder and Scully arrive in Springfield to investigate Homer's claims of a close encounter of the third kind.

They are both great. I went with SF as the guest performances and all the great X-Files type programming just worked so well.

I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to speed around the city, keeping its speed over fifty, and if its speed dropped, the bus would explode!

That & the scene leading up to it where they toured the "new house" was easily the strongest moment from either episode; Springfield Files was the stronger episode overall though - to me, at least.

I think I like Simpson Files more overall, but god damn if child Ned and his total freakout aren't top tier moments. I gotta give it to Hurricane Neddy on the back of those bits alone.
