Police in Sayama, Saitama Prefecture, have arrested a 62-year-old man on suspicion of killing his 61-year-old wife who had terminal cancer.

According to police, Teruo Yamashita has admitted to stabbing his wife Makiko in the neck as she lay on a futon in their bedroom early Tuesday, Fuji TV reported. Yamashita called 110 at 12:30 a.m. and said he had killed his wife.

Police rushed to the apartment and found Makiko bleeding from a stab wound to the neck. She was taken to hospital where she was confirmed dead.

Yamashitas wife suffered from terminal breast cancer. He was quoted by police as saying he couldnt bear to see her suffering anymore.

This. Is stabbing her in the neck really the best way to take her out of her misery? Did she even request to be stabbed?

Did she want to die? Is stabbing someone in the neck a painless, ethical way to help them go?

These are important questions.

I'm all for euthanasia and it pisses me off that it isn't legal across America, but there is a certain way to do it.

This Japanese dude is definitely guilty of some sort of illegal killing.
