Board 8 > Pokemon Gauntlet Day 186: Gen VII Finals - DECIDUEYE VS. LYCANROC

General information: every generation of Pokemon starts with the first ten in the Pokedex. Five advance. Then a new five face those five, and so on and so forth. This goes until we reach the end of a generation, at which point each round becomes single elimination until we determine a generation winner. At the moment, Jolteon, Feraligatr, Flygon, Gliscor, Chandelure, and Hawlucha have won generations and will be involved in the grand finals alongside the winner of Gen VII, and the three Pokemon with the longest winning streaks (Blaziken, Excadrill, and Zigzagoon) to give us a final ten.

In the event of a tiebreaker, I'll hold a one-off topic to break said tie. Those rounds (same as these poll topics) last 24 hours to determine winners and whatnot. For purposes of this contest, no alts and no rallying.

Also, feel free to discuss opinions and predictions and whatnot.

With an EXTREMELY close match, Decidueye pulled ahead to a reasonable lead, leaving Ribombee and Lycanroc to duke it out for the second spot in the finals. Ribombee pulled ahead with a string of late votes, but in the end, it was Cody and yours truly who saved the day to put Lycanroc over the top. Now the two legitimately best Pokemon of the generation square off for the Gen VII championship. You have twenty-four hours to vote for either Decidueye, looking to be the first Pokemon to run the gauntlet from pole-to-pole, or Lycanroc, the challenger and literal underdog who just survived some harrowing matches to make it this far. No alts, no rallying. I will not vote unless there is a tie at the end of the twenty-four hour period. Get voting!

I will say this is probably the best final out of the entire gauntlet series, so kudos on that even if it couldn't have Incineroar in it

Actually I voted Lycanroc for the Midnight form which I'm in the minority on. I still like the Midday and Dusk forms but Midnight is where it's at

And don't get me wrong I like Decidueye but he's the most cliche winner

If not crowning Decidueye based on how it would be a cliche, Lycanroc is about as terrible an alternative as it gets though.

And awesome, it's beyond me how we're a minority. Midday and Dusk are decent but kinda boring imo, Midnight is pretty cool.
