As a hypothetical.

Your tomboyish daughter is a very sporting lass and has been nagging and pleading for you to let her go to football practice with the boys. Something her brother has always made fun of her for.

One day you're about to drive her to her first day of pratice when you see your son messing around with some kind of object.

He says he bought it at the market and it's a magic crystal ball which the vendor says will grant you one vison of the future. You scoff condescendingly and such superstitious nonsense and are about to throw the ball in the garbage, however the moment you touch the ball with your skin suddenly you are overwhelmed with a vision of the future.

You yourself taking your daughter to practice and see that your daughter excells at football, eventually becoming the first woman ever to play in the NFL, playing for the Seahawks at an incredible level and leading them onto an impressive undefeated streak for nearly 2 years.

However another NFL Player and misogynist "Nasty" Espargo Sanchez is fiercely angry and jealous that not only is a girl playing in the NFL but is far more successful, richer and more popular than he is. This comes to a head in one game where he intentionally brutally tackles her unsafely and drops her on her head with cruel intentions.

FjmLZaM

This results in her becoming paralyzed from the neck down and ends her very promising career instantly.

Suddenly as quickly as the vison came, it vanishes as if it never occured at all. And you see your daughter waiting by the car going "DAAAAAAAAAD come on we're going to be late!"

What do you do? Armed with what you know now, would you take her? OR would you think better of it?

Follow your dreams, honey. Let me take care of Espargo.
Who's Espargo?
No one, dear. No one.

Would anyone let their sons play in the NFL if they knew they would end up as a criple? Really I would thing it would be an equal problem regardless of the sex of the child.

Oh come on.

These scales are not equal. She would literally be the first female NFL player in history

I am not seeing this as a gender issue I'm seeing this as a parents child being crippled and knowing it was going to happen issue. What parent would want that.

The know it will happen this is the big thing to me.

I get I'm missing the point but honestly I don't see how a parent could see a difference ether way they will not want their kids to play.

Then you're either blind or unintelligent.

You don't get why being the first ever female NFL player would be a big deal?

This, and if it were truly her choice and dream I don't think I'd try to dissuade her. For some people an achievement like that would be worth it.

"...the son of Thetis above all, who altogether despised danger in comparison with disgrace..."Fate," [Thetis] said, "waits upon you next after Hector"; he, hearing this, utterly despised danger and death, and instead of fearing them, feared rather to live in dishonor..."Let me die next," he replies, "and be avenged of my enemy, rather than abide here by the beaked ships, a scorn and a burden of the earth." Had Achilles any thought of death and danger? For wherever a man's place is, whether the place which he has chosen or that in which he has been placed by a commander, there he ought to remain in the hour of danger; he should not think of death or of anything, but of disgrace. And this, O men of Athens, is a true saying."

Of course I would also do what's in my power to try to alter the future or warn her if I had such knowledge >_>
