It's like every time Matt, Foggy, and Karen get together for drinks, they'll all drink a full bottle of whiskey to themselves. They won't even be very fucked up either, when they should be basically dead after drinking so much. It's like whoever put it together doesn't know what liquor actually is.

Yeah it's odd how so many actors forgo acting like alcohol has any effect.

But they need their characters with clear heads for dialogue and the story, no silliness allowed. But they need them to drink booze as a way to tell the audience "see guys they're real people!"
