I beat Doom on hard as a kid, but my favorite thing ever was cheating and higher difficulties and mowing through enemies. Years later, I did it in GTA games, because the rampages were so satisfying.

A good challenge has its place, but sometimes just stomping everything is satisfying :)

Sometimes for. Me, all times for others, never for some. There is no right or wrong when it comes to how much difficulty and complexity you prefer tbqh

i remember jackasses that were so triggered gta had button cheat codes and that people actually used them

To be fair, I'd be sad if Wolfenstein or Doom didn't do it, because it's tradition and fits the over the top everything for the games.

Even worse because some of the cheats made the game. More difficult. It wasn't just easy mode lol

As long as it disables achievements and online, I don't care.

Some of the FE fanboys throw huge hissy fits over Awakening and on having Casual mode, which eliminates permadeath. They can't stand knowing that some people would rather not restart the game relentlessly trying to make sure not a single unit dies.

What does the game do if you play it on Easy?

It's easier

Other than that it's just the name and picture on the select difficulty menu, it's the main character dressed like a baby

The best example of this is RPGs like Valkyrie profile. You can only get the neutral and bad ending.

Better yet, Valkyrie profile also locks you out from a lot of characters as well as dungeons. Meaning you actually will have worse options for places to grind and worse units in general because you still have to send at least two units over the course of the game if you actually try playing all the dungeons. So actually, easy mode ends up being the hardest mode because you'll not have the stats or gear to handle most dungeons after chapter 1, 2 tops.

The only time I ever care about cheating in games is in multiplayer. If you're just playing by yourself, do whatever the fuck gets you the most enjoyment out of the game.

And in story based games, I almost always start on easy. Most of the time I just wanna get through the story, so that's my focus.

Also, shout out to the first Stalker game, where easy was actually bugged and made your guns less accurate.
